The receiver on this example was manufactured in 1930. The barrel is stamped with a star gauge mark on the muzzle, "S A/flaming bomb/10- 30" behind the front sight and "J/703" under the handguard. The rear sight does not have the 2,850 yard notch at the top. The polished bolt is stamped "N.S." on the top flat of the bolt knob and the serial number "1361625" is electro penciled on the top of the bolt body. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with two reinforcing bolts, a boxed "D.A.L." cartouche, a circled "P" proof and a coarse checkered steel buttplate. The drawing number "D28179" is stamped on top of the handguard. With a Springfield Research Service letter stating that this is a Model 1903 National Match Type C rifle that was shipped to Charles S. Cook of Wyoming, Pennsylvania on July 20th, 1932. With a leather claw sling stamped "BOYT/42", a P.J. O'hare rear sight cover and a muzzle/front sight cover.

Very fine, 90% plus of the original parkerized finish remains with some front sight and high edge wear along with some scattered minor scratches. The buttplate has pitting around the outside edge. The re-oiled stock is fine with some scattered scratches and dings along with the legible cartouche partially double struck. Mechanically fine.
