This example is marked "SA/flaming bomb/9- 32" behind the front sight and has the standard markings on the barrel and receiver. The receiver has a fully adjustable Lyman rear peep sight mounted on the right rear. The "N.S./M2" marked bolt is electro penciled with the matching serial number on the bottom. Mounted on a walnut pistol grip stock with finger grooves, a boxed "S.A./O" cartouche on the left side of the buttstock, "M2" stamped on the grip cap area and a checkered steel buttplate. With a research letter from Franklin B. Mallory stating that this is a prototype rifle that was one of the first with the adjustable headspace feature and that it was tested by two representatives from the Ordinance Office on April 3rd, 1933.

Excellent, 97% of the dark green parkerized finish remains with some high edge wear and some scattered scratches and rub marks. The stock is very fine with scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
