This receiver was manufactured in late 1934. The muzzle is stamped with a star, the star gauge number "A/649" is stamped under the hand guard and the top of the barrel is stamped "SA/flaming bomb/4-35". Has the standard front sight and the rear sight has a 2,850 yard notch at the top. The bolt is stamped "N.S." on top of the knob and the full serial number "1456608" is electro penciled on top of the bolt body. Mounted on a smooth walnut stock with two reinforcing bolts, a boxed "S.A./SPG" cartouche on the left wrist, a circled "P" proof on the front of the wrist and a checkered steel buttplate. With a leather claw sling marked "MILSCO/1944", a muzzle cover, a rear sight cover and a Springfield Research Service letter stating that this is a Model 1903A1, 1936 National Match rifle that was sold to Fred Johnson on September 10th, 1936 at Camp Perry.

Excellent, 95% plus original parkerized finish with some scattered scratches, rub marks and high edge wear. The stock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The sling is good.
