Manufacturer: Winchester Model: 1894
This Winchester Model 1894 two barrel rifle set consists of two 26 inch half octagon barrels with 1/2 magazine, blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sights and a smooth walnut forearm. The barrel on the rifle is marked with the two line address on the top flat ahead of the rear sight, two line nickel steel/smokeless powder marking on the left upper rear flat and "25-35 W.C.F." on top at the breech. The extra barrel is marked with the two line address on the top flat ahead of the rear sight and "32-40" at the breech. The takedown levers are marked with the 1893 patent date. It is estimated that only 1 of every approximately 2,982 Model 1894s had interchangeable barrels. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth straight grip stock with a shotgun butt and steel buttplate. The accompanying factory letter verifies the takedown rifle configuration, 25/35 caliber, 1/2 octagon barrel, plain trigger, Lyman front and rear sights, 1/2 magazine, shotgun butt, "sister barrel", that it was received in and shipped from the warehouse on March 15, 1901. It is also noted that it was returned and repaired on October 23, 1903.

Fine. The rifle retains 60% plus original blue finish with areas of gray patina, edge wear and some minor pitting on the receiver. The hammer has a smooth brown patina with hints of the original case colors and the lever retains most of the vivid original case colors. The wood is also very good with some overall scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The extra barrel retains 80% original blue finish with some fading to a smooth brown patina and the usual wear found on the underside of a takedown barrel. There is some minor pitting at the breech end. The forearm is excellent with a few minor dents and handling marks. A solid example of a rare two barrel Model 1894 with shotgun butt.
