Documented Pre-War Colt Single Action Army Frontier Six Shooter Revolver with Factory Letter

According to the included factory letter, this revolver was sent as a single item to O.H. Woodward, care of Morley Brothers of Saginaw, Michigan on January 3, 1920, in 44/40 caliber with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish and "Not Listed" grips. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the rolled Frontier legend on the left side of the barrel, one-line Hartford address on top, two-line patent dates on the frame next to the uncircled Rampant Colt, and matching numbers on the frame, front strap and rear face of the cylinder and "487" on the loading gate and frame. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints at the tops.

Fine with 60% of the original blue with areas of gray and brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered light scratches and handling marks. The frame retains 50% of the bright case color concentrated in the protected areas. Grips are very good, with some mild dents. Mechanically very good.
