These Crimean War medals were awarded to Lt. Colonel Henry Armytage of the Coldstream Guards which have been mounted. Named Crimea Medal with Sebastopol, Inkermann, Balaklava and Alma clasps (Major rank marked). French Legion of Honor. Turkish Order of the Medjidie. British issued Turkish Crimea Medal. Comes with copies of official records confirming that Armytage was awarded the Crimea Medal. Accompanying the medal is an original commission scroll dated 1848 detailing the appointment of Armytage as Ensign and Lieutenant and a paper commission appointing him to the rank of Lieutenant and Captain. Both commissions are with the Coldstream Regiment and are framed. Other official records included in this lot confirm that he was married in 1851, had a daughter born in 1852 and died in 1901 in the sub-district of Belgrave in the County of London.
