Documented Factory Engraved First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Pearl Steer Head Grips, and an R.T. Marked Frazier Money Belt Holster Rig

According to the included factory letter, this revolver was part of a six-piece order shipped to H & D Folsom Arms Company of New York City on July 8, 1903, with the letter declaring the presence of a 4 3/4 inch barrel in 45 caliber, factory nickel finish, and the note "Factory Engraved: Yes", along with "Not Listed" grips. Blade front and frame groove rear sights, with the two-line address on top of the barrel, "45 COLT" on the left side, and the two-line patent marking on the left side of the frame ahead of the Rampant Colt. The barrel is topped with an engraved starburst, with a 2 3/4 inch wedge on the upper left and right, integrating a banner around the caliber marking, and a wavy zig-zag line with dotted accents on top of the ejector housing. Additional dotted zig-zags adorn the rear face of the cylinder and run up the chambers, with light bursts at the front face, with dot accents along the top strap, sunbursts on either side of the recoil shield, punch dot backed scroll designs on the sides of the frame and trigger guard, and floral designs on the top sides of the back strap. Fitted with two-piece mother of pearl grips, with the right side showing a raised carved steer head. Additionally, the left side of the barrel towards the muzzle is stamped "W.M.LAW/H. S./A.R.K.191.4"; no information has been found on this marking. Also included with the lot is a tooled brown leather R.T. Frazier (Pueblo, Colorado) holster, double-loop configuration with finely tooled floral and scroll decoration, and a Frazier gun belt, gray leather construction with brown leather hardware and cartridge loops.

Very good as period replated, showing 95% of the nickel finish, with some mild handling marks and edge wear overall. A notable quantity of pitting is present on the metal underneath the finish, with some faded markings. The grips are good, with some chipping at the butt and near the frame. The belt is good, with lost stitching on the belt loops and the tongue secured with wire. Holster is fine, with a small amount of tearing at the corners of the loop cuts and mild wear appropriate to age. Mechanically fine. A colorful Old West Colt SAA rig!
