This is the only Model 94 flatside in existence. Standard markings, with hooded ramped front and adjustable sporting rear sights. This experimental version manufactured in the Winchester model shop was to see if it could be made less expensively by reducing the machining and polishing of the receiver. The decision not to pursue the project was made after the gun was completed. The gun was later presented to an executive when he retired from Winchester. Includes original box and Ted Hazelwood and typed Winchester hanging tags. Included is a photocopy of a letter from Olin Vice President-Manufacturing James G. Hascall stating that this rifle was "manufactured as an experiment to reduce the machining and polishing cast of the receiver". Formally part of the Peter and Patty Murray collection.
