Manufactured in 1900. This revolver is pictured and identified in "The Book of Colt Engraving" by R.L. Wilson on page 239. This revolver has a rare silver-plated finish and is decorated with deluxe factory engraving done by Colt Master Engraver Cuno Helfricht. The revolver features scroll and punch-dot engraving on the breech end sides of the barrel and lower sides of the frame. The top of the ejector and back strap are decorated with a zigzag line design, the cylinder flats have a ribbon design, zigzag line and dots on the top strap, star burst on the trigger guard and the recoil shield and loading gate have a shell design. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co./HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in an engraved panel with a double line border, the caliber designation "45 COLT" is marked in a banner and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line/three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt Horse. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, and the partial serial number "469" is marked on the rear face of the cylinder. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "765". All silver finish, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with two-piece pearl grips with a carved eagle shield motif on the right panel. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, eagle carved pearl grips, factory engraving and that it was shipped as 1 of 3 to Simmons Hardware St. Louis, Mo.
