Auction Details
Great 2 day sale of 967 lots containing a very wide range of material highlighted with a few very select seldom available choice scarce items! Session I beings with and includes all 497 lots of Canadian Decimal, Canadian Gold and Maritime issues. In the copper we have a number of red designated coins and a pretty full run of dates from 1920 and up. A few highlight examples are the 1893 Large cent, 1923 Small cent PCGS MS64RB, 1930 Small cent PCGS MS66BN, 1944 cent ICCS MS65Red, 1892 5 cent MS65, 1858 10 cent MS66, 1872H I/A 25 cent, gorgeous beautifully colored 1872H 50 cent PCGS MS64, 1935 $1.00 MS65, 1911c Sovereign SP65 and 1904H Nfld. 20 cent SP66, to name a few. Session II begins with a good selection of about 50 USA Gold Coins followed by a nice run of Lincoln cents and a smattering of other interesting USA Coins ie. 1893 Isabella 25 cent, 1928 Comm. 50 cent, 1880cc and 1899 cc $1.00. Right behind are the Medals & Tokens with a few interesting pieces leading into the World Gold Coins which contains the ultimate HIGHLIGHT of this auction. "THE VANDYCK GOLD HALF SOVEREIGN COLLECTION OF AUSTRALIA", Lot #659! A nearly complete set of 61 pieces all but 2 coins are PCGS certified. Most pieces are in higher grade for the issue and an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT set to assemble! Next is a small selection of World Coins, Ancients and Sets. This brings us to the Errors. We have a very interesting group of Errors, some of which are just not seen in Canada. It is the nicest grouping that we have handled in 30 years. Closing out the evening and the sale is approximately 175 lots of Canadian Banknotes highlighted with the certified 1935 French $100 issue CCGS VF20. Other popular sought after issues included are early date Chartered Bank Proof and Specimens, certified asterisks and devil face notes with a few radar pieces.
