<td width="100%">
This is a nice clean early 1900's 5 1/2 tooth points per inch skew back rip saw marked with the "H. DISSTON PHILADAquot; logo on the handle medallion, the etch is visiable on the blade, and has the "D-8" logo and the Henry Disston statement and signature. The handle is clean, with a few tiny edge dings on it, the old owner's number stamp noted on both sides, a very tight grain seperation noted on the underside (only of the upper handle ear) very solid handle, some minor staining, clean with a about 50% of the original clear finish intact. The saw came from a shop with 3 generations of carpenters tool present. The 26" long blade is about 98% straight, and appears to have been straighten at one time as some minor dings are noted on the blade surface, often related to a blade straightening process. The little dings will not cause any problems in cutting at all, since the teeth are set out further than any of the dings are, so the blade glides through the cut just fine. The blade is otherwise very nice, shiney, very sharp. Although some may call the extra hole in the handle a trigger finger hole, it is designed to allow for the two handed sawing, by being able to place the thumb of your second hand in the hole for a good hold on long or heavy rip cuts.
