Disney Comic Character Story, Paint, and Cut Out Books
Disney Comic Character Story, Paint, and Cut Out Books and other items (Various, 1910-60). This collection of rare items is a virtual treasure trove of unusual memorabilia. The majority of items are Disney-related, including such unusual titles as Charlie McCarthy Meets Snow White, a radio-related illustrated story book. There are several more Snow White items; a number of Pinocchio picture and cut-out books, one with a die-cut shape; the 1942 Mickey Mouse Character Plaks kit, featuring Mickey at war on the front illustration; a 1944 Walt Disney's Surprise Package book (fifth printing); and the Uncle Remus Stories Giant Golden book from 1947 (missing part of spine and taped). Non-Disney items include four early hardback Mutt and Jeff collections (Book 1; two copies of Book 2, one red cover, one blue cover; and Book 3 -- these items are fragile, with some loose covers); a very unusual set of Transfer Pictures from the 1932 two-reel comedy "Sham Poo the Magician"; Mother Goose Rhyme Book and unused Scrap Book; Visit Mother Goose with Jack and Jill; A Day With Charlie McCarthy 1938 story book, illustrated with photos; The Learn-To-Read Book; a Little Orphan Annie paper doll "cut-out" book; a 1955 "Howdy Doody" Merchandise Catalog; and finally, a "Flintstones" Frame Tray Puzzle. The items range in condition from Fair to Excellent. From the John McLaughlin Collection.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 22.5% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. This lot is being auctioned in conjunction with a live floor auction by Heritage Auction Galleries. All final auction and invoice information will be supplied by Heritage Auction Galleries, and all other information should be considered preliminary.
