Dinky Doodle and Weakheart Production Cel with Photo Background Animation Original Art (Bray Studio, circa 1925). Walter Lantz began his animation career in the 1920s, working at one of the earliest studios producing animated cartoons, the John Bray studio. His first creation there was a young boy named Dinky Doodle, who, together with his dog pal Weakheart, appeared with their creator in a series that combined live action and animation -- many years before the hit movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Yes, that's Walter Lantz himself in the photo background, as Dinky and Weakheart frighten him with a phony ghost. Doesn't Mr. Lantz resemble Harold Lloyd in this picture? This very rare early cel measures approximately 10" x 7.5", and has been signed by Lantz. It has been beautifully matted and framed to an overall size of 20" x 18". The art and frame both are in Very Good+ condition, due to a few small nicks on the frame and a very minor bit of paint loss on the ghost.
