<B>Dick Tracy First Chicago Tribune Promo (The Chicago Tribune, 1931).</B></I> Offered in this lot is the awe-inspiring, ultra-rare <I>first</B></I> <B>Chicago Tribune</B></I> Newspapers Syndicate promotion for Chester Gould's then-new <B>Dick Tracy Detective</B></I> comic strip. The cover of this 15" x 20 1/2" (unfolded) tabloid-sized four-page (one sheet) promo, dated December 1931, depicts the tough-as-nails, trench coat-wearing Tracy casting a shadow (in eye-catching red) that guarantees the reader is in for suspense! The interior spread shows two early <B>Tracy</B></I> Sunday strips, and the back cover features a letter from the circulation manager super-imposed over three <B>Tracy</B></I> dailies. This jumbo flier is in VF condition, and will make its new owner the envy of his or her collecting circle! <BR><BR><B>Important notice:</B> Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour.
