Dick Tracy Comics Art Poster Limited Edition 83/100 (Abrams, 1978).
Dick Tracy Comics Art Poster Limited Edition 83/100 (Abrams, 1978). "Law and Order First" is the theme of this mind-blowing limited-edition comics-art poster issued by Abrams in 1978, starring the one and only "America's favorite detective," Dick Tracy. Tracy communicates into his 2-way wrist TV (labeled with a pointer, in classic Dick Tracy style) in this gigantic, full-color, stone-wash lithograph on rag paper, released in a quantity of a mere 100. We believe that this signature shot of Tracy is the work of Chester Gould himself. The poster even bears Gould's signature. This overwhelmingly fabulous art is framed (no glass) at a size of 30" x 38", with an image area of 20" x 28". While it will certainly become a showpiece in the home of any law-abiding crimestopper, we are honor-bound to mention three small flaws: a barely noticeable, 3/4" diagonal scratch across Tracy's hatband; a 1/2" wide x 1/8" high rectangular indentation in the white background, just below Tracy's wrist; and a hard-to-see 3/4" tape tear in the rag paper, just above Tracy's head. These minor glitches are visible only upon very close inspection, and the humongous size and pulsating colors of this comics-art poster will distract most eyes away from any imperfections.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
