This lot is made up of a true Hollywood romance, the signatures of actor, singer, director Dick Powell (1904-1963) and actress, dancer, singer June Allyson (1917-2006). Powell and Allyson married in 1945 while both were at the top of the Hollywood "A" List. Powell's varied career included early stints as a singer and dancer and culminated in him staring as Philip Marlowe, the hardboiled private detective created by Raymond Chandler, in "Murder My Sweet." He later went on to television where he formed "Four Star Productions." Allyson, an MGM star, played alongside James Stewart in films like "The Glenn Miller Story" and "The Stratton Story." Both signatures appear to have been removed from an autograph book, with each dated 4/14/1953. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
