Lid is damaged and repaired as shown. 14" tall. Signed with his chop mark. Dick Evans (Born 1941) is active/lives in New Mexico. Dick Evans is known for Ceramics, painter-mod views. Dick Evans grew up in a small town in Texas and was not introduced to fine art until he went to university. Evans became a nationally known ceramicist before beginning his career as a painter in 1991. His paintings are abstract with large gestural stokes and rich color loosely resembling the landscape. Dick Evans works intuitively making no sketches or plans until he opens his palette and begins to paint. His paintings are how he expresses himself and his reaction to the world around him. When Evans was a toddler he under went a surgical procedure in which he was given ether. He remembers seeing flying figures with wings shaped like the end of crescents. This motif has reoccurred in Evans's work throughout his career.
