<B>Detective Comics #31 (DC, 1939) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Cream to off-white pages.</B></I> Batman's resurgent popularity over the past 20 years has propelled this issue to 16th place (and climbing) among Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Books. The reason? It starts with Bob Kane's brilliant cover, which Overstreet has dubbed "classic". Then there are all these "firsts": first appearances of the Monk, Julie Madison, the Batplane, and the Batarang. This one's a tough find; just ask CGC - no copies certified to date nicer than VF 8.0 and only four nicer than this mid-grade copy. Overstreet 2007 VG 4.0 value = $6,800; FN 6.0 value = $10,200.
