Fascinating report circa 1960, detailing the Montgomery Bus Boycott and MLK's profound response. The report was most likely written by George Gleason for his 1961 book, ''Successful Social Action''. Seven page typescript report is entitle ''Action in Montgomery, Alabama'' and thoroughly details the Montgomery Bus Strike leading to the eventual Supreme Court decision that declared segregation unconstitutional. The report begins, ''...The movement in Montgomery was sparked by a minor, unpremediated incident...'' He goes on to quote Martin Luther King at length, ''...'The whites wish to treat the Negroes in a paternal manner, as children. The Negroes are maturing and demand to be treated more and more as adults...Fear on the part of the whites of losing their superior status is another cause of the trouble. Love is the only solution'...'' Lengthy 7pp. report measures 8.5'' x 11''. Staple holes at top left and minor folds. Near fine.
