This is an example of a Pre-World War I military Luger Erfurt pistol. The top of the chamber is dated "1913" and "crown / ERFURT" on the toggle, gothic letter and Imperial Eagle proofs on the right side of the barrel extension, the Eagle repeated on the barrel and breechblock, and single crown/gothic letter proofs on most small components, including stamped on the inside of each grip panel. Complete matching serial number on the frame, barrel and extension with "17" on the small components. The pistol has the standard fixed front and rear sights and the extractor and safety are properly marked with "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". Blue finish with straw colored small components, stock lug on the backstrap and nickel magazine with wooden base stamped with crown/gothic letter proof.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 95% original finish with the barrel showing some muzzle wear and thinning to a smooth plum patina. There is some high edge wear, some very fine pitting on the side plate, mild thinning on the front strap and light spotting on the backstrap. 70% of the bright original straw color remains on the small components. The grips are very good with a few minor bruises and crisp checkering. All markings are crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent.
