Desirable World War II U.S. Army Inland M1 Carbine with M1A1 Paratrooper Style Stock

This is a very early WWII M1 Carbine manufactured late 1943. It has the standard receiver markings with the barrel stamped "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/5-43" and has been fitted with a restored M1A1 paratrooper stock. The carbine has the type 1 barrel band, 2 rivet handguard, flat blue bolt, and type 1, two-position flip rear sight stamped "S" on the side. It has a type II Inland marked trigger housing (Inland markings upright) with an "HI" marked hammer, unmarked push button safety and unmarked magazine catch. The carbine is fitted with a correct pattern replacement walnut stock with the high wood that is restamped "IO" inside. The rear of the stock above the pistol grip has been restamped with a circled "P" proof, with a small ordnance cartouche on the underside of the pistol grip. The buttplate has the casting markings and a replaced leather cheekpiece. Included is a 20 round magazine and a WWII green web sling.

Very fine as restored with 95% of the arsenal refurbished finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The stock as noted is a restored M1A1 paratrooper stock that is excellent with minimal handling marks with a nice dark brown color overall. This is an attractive WWII M1A1 type carbine that would go great in any WWII or M1 Carbine collection.
