This is a desirable Zero Series P38 pistols that has the exposed extractor, round head firing pin, thick rear sight, and thin safety lever. The slide is marked with the "Walther Banner/P.38/03868". The right side of the slide is marked with a double "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proofs, with a single "Eagle" firing proof in between. The serial number "03868" is stamped on the front the front of the barrel lug, left side of the frame and left side of the slide. The locking block is stamped "868" on the underside with the sides stamped with a "Eagle" firing proof and "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proof. There is a small "asterisk" type proof on the front of the barrel lug. Since this is an early Nazi issue P38 the majority of the various smaller parts are also stamped with an "Eagle/359" acceptance proof. It is fitted with black checkered bakelite grips with the correct four subcontractor mold marks on the back sides with each grip proofed with an "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proof, however they are not numbered to the pistol. It is complete with a single early all blue magazine that is numbered "03868" on the left side with no other proofs. The slide is fitted with thick rear sight and standard front sight.

Very fine with 80% of the faded blue finish overall with even wear and blue loss overall. The grips are very fine with nice checkering on both sides mixed with handling marks and nicks on the sides. Mechanically excellent. As noted this scarce pistol has matching numbers to include the original magazine.
