This potent .405 WCF chambered Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle was manufactured in 1926. The rifle is chambered for the rare and very desirable .405 Winchester cartridge. The rifle has a high polish blue finish on the barrel, receiver and loading lever. The straight grain walnut stock and forearm have a varnish finish. The stock is fitted with a reproduction tan rubber Winchester recoil pad with black spacer. The barrel is fitted with a Lyman "Jack Sight" with gold bead and a sporting type rear sight with four-notch elevator. The top of the receiver has a matted finish. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped: "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" in two lines below the rear sight followed by the caliber "-.405 W.C.F.". The oval Winchester proof mark is stamped on the top of the barrel just in front of the receiver and on the left side of the receiver below the matted surface. The Winchester address and patent dates are roll-stamped on the left side of the receiver in two lines. The upper receiver tang is marked: "MODEL 95/-WINCHESTER- /TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OGG & FGN." in three unequal lines. The serial number is stamped on the lower receiver tang perpendicular to the bore.

Excellent. The rifle retains 98% of the original blue finish and shows only minor storage wear. The barrel has minimal finish wear the only significant finish loss on the rifle is some and small, scattered areas of flaking along the upper sides of the receiver. The barrel and receiver markings are crisp. The bore is bright. The shortened stock and forearm are in excellent condition with nearly all of the original varnish finish and minimal handling or storage wear. The recoil pad appears to be the correct factory Winchester marked replacement recoil pad for this rifle. Mechanically excellent. This is an excellent Winchester Model 1895 chambered for the rare and very desirable .405 Winchester cartridge.
