Very good. The metal surfaces have a dark patina with some scattered minor oxidation. The receiver has a very pleasant dark aged patina with a crude period "JD" scratched into the right front. The barrel band sling swivel is absent. The wood is also good with numerous minor gouges, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine. An attractive 1876 production old west "Yellow Boy" Winchester Model 1866 Carbine!
