This is a nice example of an original CMP documented M1D Sniper Rifle with shipping box. Produced at Springfield Arsenal using a Winchester receiver, which are uncommon on the M1D and very desirable. Blade and peep sights, with the distinctive barrel mounted M84 Telescopic Sight, Hart Manufacturing M2 flash hider and russet leather, lace-on, cheekpiece. The rifle is marked: "U.S. RIFLE/CAL..30 M1/WINCHESTER/1201451" on the rear of the receiver, "S-A-5-51" on the barrel, "TE-1-69" on the right receiver leg, indicating rebuild at Toole Army Depot in 1969. The scope has the original dull blue finish, data plate marked "TELESCOPE/ M84/ SERIAL NUMBER 5554", rubber eyepiece and sliding sunshield. Fitted with a Winchester trigger housing, other components Springfield. Smooth stock, with a walnut and beech handguard, stamped with an uncircled "P" proof on the grip, boxed SA cartouche on the left side of the butt and "MRT/ 11-62" on the cheekpiece. With a shipping box, scope case, canvas sling, and CMP documentation, including the DD 1348 which shows this rifle as being one of the "SF" Special Forces turn-in rifles.

Serial Number: 1201451
