Manufactured from 1866 to 1870 with a total production of around 6,500, this was Remington's first Rolling Block Pistol and it is easily identified by it's distinctive spur trigger. The top of the barrel is marked with the Navy anchor, the left side of the frame is marked "REMINGTON ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAY30 NOV. 16TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866", the right side of the frame is marked with the proof and inspection marks "P/F.C.W." and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the forearm. The front sight is the standard fixed pinched style and a notch in the top of the breech block serves as the rear sight. The barrel is blue, the hammer a fire blue and the remaining metal is casehardened. Fitted with a smooth walnut forearm and one-piece grip with a clear cartouche on the lower left side.
