This is an example of U.S. Model 1836 Pommel Holster's marked in oval cartouche on top, by "Storeys Maker". Each holster has a cartridge pouch on the front body. The cartridge pouches have five tin tubes for carrying paper cartridges. The flaps are secured to the body with a single brass latching stud. The holster toes are plugged with leather. Storey's maker marking is present near the pommel opening. Comes with a fine quality made contemporary wooden display stand.

Condition: Very fine. There is extensive age cracking on a flap, otherwise some minor age cracking overall. The maker marking is weak but legible. Overall the stitching is tight. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a very fine set of marked original U.S. M1836 Pommel Holsters. These also were used (with slight modification) for the Walker Colt Revolvers and subsequently the Colt Dragoons!
