Desirable U.S. Military Inspected WWII Colt Service Model Ace Semi-Automatic Pistol
Introduced in 1937, this particular pistol was manufactured very early in 1942. Features fixed blade front and adjustable square notch rear sights with a checkered spur hammer, trigger, thumb safety, slide stop and magazine release. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line Colt address/patent numbers, followed by the Rampant Colt, and the left side of the frame is marked with a boxed "WB" inspection mark. The right side of the slide is marked, "COLT" next to "SERVICE / MODEL" followed by "ACE" (within a diamond) "22 LONG / RIFLE", with the serial number stamped below on the frame. Checkered arched mainspring housing, two tone Ace marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Condition: Professionally refinished (possibly factory) with 99% plus blue finish remaining showing some very minor wear on the muzzle end of the slide and light overall handling marks. The grips are excellent with some minor wear on the lower edges and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
