Desirable Remington New Model Army Rollin White Cartridge Conversion Single Action Revolver, #139929, 5-shot, .46 RF cal., 8" octagon barrel, no ejector rod, blue finish, brass trigger guard, smooth two-piece walnut grips, "pinched" blade front sight, and notched rear sight. Lower portion of the left grip with "JWK" inspectors cartouche (John W. Kelly). Top of the barrel is marked in three-lines "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". Cylinder is marked with Rollin White patent marking "PATENTED APRIL 3d 1855". Matching numbers on bottom of the barrel and left side of the grip frame. Left side of the grip frame is also marked "2393", "1", and "16"; right side "2388", "1", and "T". Underside of the barrel, in front of the loading lever is marked "2393A". This revolver is in overall very good condition, displaying approx. 30%-35% blue, primarily on the cylinder and lever, balance with a smooth gray and brown patina. Factory markings are clear. Grips are near fine with a clear cartouche, typical moderate handling marks, with pleasing grain patterns, and majority of their rich oil finish remaining. Action is crisp and cycles smoothly. Bore is primarily bright, with well-defined rifling, and a little scattered mild pitting. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (Antique) (Michael Strietbeck Collection)
