Desirable Production Early DWM Model 1902 American Eagle Luger Fat Barrel Pistol

This is an example of a desirable early DWM Model 1902 American Eagle Luger pistol chambered in the 9 mm Luger cartridge that is fitted with the scarce short fat barrel configuration. This model was a continuation of the earlier 1902 commercial Lugers intended for the U.S. market with only 600-700 being made in this configuration. This pistol has the new style frame with coil leaf springs and no stock lug, recessed breechblock, dished toggles with toggle locks and grip safety. The barrel extension is also the short old model with the top of the chamber area with the American Eagle roll markings with the front toggle marked with the "DWM" logo. Serial numbered in a commercial manner with the full serial number "22565" on the front of the frame, and underside of the barrel. The partial serial number "65" on the various small parts. The underside of the barrel, left side of the barrel extension and toggle assembly all have the correct commercial proofs, "Crown/B" and "G". The lower safety position is unmarked and polished bright with the extractor correctly unmarked. This Luger is complete with one original wood base nickel plated magazine that is stamped on the base with a script "Cal 9m/m".

Very fine as professionally restored with 95% of the mostly original blue finish remaining with refinished blue present in the front of frame. The frame was restamped during the restoration process. The grips are very fine. Mechanically excellent. A very nice example of a desirable restored DWM Model 1902 fat barrel Luger pistol.
