Desirable Pre-War S Code Krieghoff Luger Rig with Krieghoff Holster
This is a nice example of an early Krieghoff "S" code WWII German Luger as manufactured in limited quantities for the Luftwaffe. This Luger is marked with the "S-Code" over the chamber which was the secret wartime code indicating manufacture in 1936. The pistol has a very low serial number "408" with the early features such as the early B-2 variation marked toggle that has only the "H & K" marked on each side of the Krieghoff Anchor with only the word "SUHL", marked below that. The points of the anchor nearly touch the letter "K" and the word "SUHL" slightly slants to the right with the flat bottom on the letter "U". It has the typical military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the front frame, the left side of the receiver, with the last two digits on the side plate, rear toggle assembly, trigger, take down lever and side plate. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early "LWaA" 1st -stage 1 early Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel is marked only with the bore and the early "Eagle/2" acceptance proof. The pistol is fitted with the correct early style Krieghoff checkered walnut grips that has the slightly trapezoidal/flat top pattern that are correctly not numbered or proofed on the backs. The pistol is complete with two early pattern Krieghoff magazines that have the nickel plated magazine body with a cast aluminum bases, that are numbered "4345" and "5007" and both have a single "eagle / 2" proof only. These lugers have the distinctive Krieghoff high polish blue finish with the straw colored small parts. This luger is complete with an early unmarked commercial military style black holster that has a old ink marked "Ku" inside the flap. There were only about 4,000 "S" code Luger produced during this year of manufacture.
