Desirable Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Carbine in Scarce 7mm Caliber

This is an example of a Winchester Model 70 carbine in the scarce "7 M/M" or commonly termed the 7 x 57mm caliber. This caliber was introduced to the Model 70 line in 1937 and discontinued in 1949, so standard production was very limited and is one of the most difficult calibers to locate today. This example was manufactured in 1948. The carbine has standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Polished bolt numbered to the gun, late safety and straight tang receiver. The straight comb pistol grip stock features checkering on the forearm and grip area, sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% plus original blue finish with some loss at the muzzle and some minor high edge wear. Some minor scratches are present on the receiver. The stock is also excellent with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
