There were exactly 579 of this model manufactured for the Garde Nationale Republic (serial number range of 1,921-2,500 with v suffix). The chamber area has the intertwined Portuguese "GNR" (Garde Nationale Republicane) with the desirable Mauser banner logo on the front toggle link. The barrel underside, left receiver side and breech block have a commercial "Crown/U" Oberndorf proof. Serial numbered in the commercial manner with full serial number "2068" on the frame, barrel and barrel extension, with the last two digits of the serial number (68) on the various small parts. The safety area is marked "SEGURANCA", with extractor marked "CARREGADA". Nicely checkered grips, an unmarked nickel plated magazine with an unmarked aluminum base and a 1906 commercial holster that is two different colors of leather. The base leather is a light brown color that has a black leather cover sewn over the top. You can see the light brown leather on the inside and back side of the holster with the black cover on the front and flap area. Holster is marked with a small "AE" on the back side with no other markings with a pouch on the side for the steel handle brass cleaning rod and small pin-punch, both included.

Very fine with 85% plus of the slightly faded original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with thinning on the grip straps. The grips are also very fine with nice distinct checkering on both sides with minor handling marks with a minor flat spot on the right side front of the holster flap stud. The holster is good with nice tight stitching overall with minor age cracking of the surface of the leather in some area. A nice all original and unaltered 1935 Portuguese contract Mauser Banner Luger pistol rig with all matching serial numbers, except the magazine as noted above..
