Manufacturer: Marlin Firearms Co Model: 410
These were a very interesting and unique shotgun as manufactured by the Marlin Firearms Company from 1929-1932. This model of shotgun was actually produced on the Model 1893 lever action rifle that featured the strong, square locking bolt and side ejection. They were manufactured in two barrel lengths 22 and 26 inch with this one the later and all had a 5 shot magazine tube. The barrels are unmarked and have a single bead front sight. The top tang is marked "Marlin/410". As noted these models had two different serial number ranges, the earlier ones with a "U" prefix and the later model with just the serial number marked on the lower tang, this is a fairly later production version. It has a standard pistol-grip stock with black Marlin marked plastic buttplate with a 13-5/8 inches length of pull.
BBL: 26 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 410 gauge
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 6745
Condition:
Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish with wear on the edges and high spots. Thinning on the underside of the receiver and top rear section of the barrel. The buttstock retains 90% of its original varnish showing flaking and scratches on the rear side of the stock. The standard forend currently shows an old custom modified configuration, where it was reshaped with the sides sanded flat, probably for use as a youth shotgun. Regardless this is still one of the better Marlin Model 410 shotguns we have seen in some time.
