Made by H. Keller of Corpus Christi, Texas circa 1878-88 and is designed for a 7 1/2" barreled single actioned revolver. Reminiscent of the "California" pattern, this early "Mexican Loop" holster has a relatively form fit profile, made of light weight russet skirting material and uses an unusual, abruptly recurved throat profile and a contoured main seam sewn through the rounded toe. The rather large half skirt secures the holster with a single , integral loop. The top of the holster has the tooled marking "H. KELLER / MAKER / CORPUS CHRISTI TEX" with a scalloped border. The remainder of the front of the holster is decorated with a feather and simple line tooled patterns. With the holster is a period leather belt with 41 cartridge loops extending from the buckle around the back. There are no visible markings on the belt. The belt is made of a single piece of leather and has an oval buckle and billets.
