Formed in the 1940s by John Pederson, inventor of the Pederson Device, and the Irwin family, Michigan furniture makers, Irwin-Pederson produced approximately 150,000 M1 carbines before the Ordnance Department canceled their contract, making the Irwin-Pederson the most scarce of the M1 Carbines. Blade front and two leaf rear (loose) sights, marked "RIA" and "S" respectively. Underwood barrel dated "1-44" with "P" marking. Barrel band without bayonet lug, "IP-W" push button safety, magazine canvas, and absent sling. Stock has a 2 rivet hand guard and "IR" stamped in the sling cutout.

Condition: Restored to World War II specification, showing 99% of the Arsenal parkerized finish remaining with a few minor scratches on the barrel. The wood has a hairline crack behind the trigger guard, otherwise some very scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
