Desirable H. E. Dimick half stocked percussion plains type rifle, .50 cal., 32” octagon barrel, brown patina finish, checkered wood stock with round patch box showing a great engraving of an American Bison. This gun is in overall very good, untouched condition showing a deep brown patina on metal surfaces, top of barrel shows marking “H. E. Dimick, St. Louis”; back action lock plate is nicely engraved as is the hammer; action is crisp with functioning double set triggers; overall good bore and very good wood with scattered small nicks and mars from carry and storage; brass-tipped wood cleaning rod is present. Dimick was in the class of Hawken and Beauvais. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
