Desirable Early DWM Model 1902 Luger Carbine Complete with Walnut Shoulder Stock

This is an example of a rare DWM Model 1902 Luger carbine, complete with the walnut shoulder stock chambered in the highly desirable 9mm Luger cartridge. These early carbines all have an 11 3/4 inch barrel, with DWM factory frame hanger that attaches to the small walnut forend which holds a small spring accelerator mechanism to help cycle the longer carbine barrel during firing. The additional early features are the old style frame with the flat mainspring, grip safety, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, and the recessed/flat breech bolt with the small spring extractor. The chamber area of the barrel extension is blank with the DWM logo on the front toggle. The full serial number (23655) is correctly marked on the underside of the frame extension and underside of the barrel. The forend is unnumbered inside the cutout for the frame extension. The last two digits of the serial number (55) are stamped on the bottom of the recoil lug, side of the grip safety, trigger, takedown lever, side plate, breech bolt, and toggle assembly. The grips and firing pin are all unnumbered. As noted this fine early 1902 Luger Carbine comes with a new made, exact copy of the original walnut shoulder stock with an unnumbered attaching iron. The stock has the original style DWM checkering on the sides with correct style plastic butt plate and an original lower sling swivel. The forend is also correctly fitted with a sling swivel and has original DWM factory checkering on the sides. This scarce pistol is complete with one original nickel plated magazine with a correct unnumbered wood base.

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1902 Carbine
BBL: 11 3/4 inch round
Stock: walnut
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 23655

Very fine with 95% of an old professionally restored blue finish that has now aged and looks real close to the original finish, with some light thinning on the grip straps. The grips and forend are both in fine condition with nice distinct checking on both, showing light wear across the tops of the checkering and minor handling marks. The stock as noted is a new current replacement that matches an original stock and that matches this early Luger very nicely. The stock is in excellent condition with nice sharp checkering. A nice early Luger Carbine rig.
