Desirable DWM Luger Carbine with Shoulder Stock

This is an attractive example of a beautiful restored/custom assembled DWM Luger carbine complete with the shoulder stock. These carbines were designed as a light weight substitute rifle, intended to compete with the Mauser Broomhandle carbines. The unique Lugers have the longer 11 3/4 inch barrel with a DWM factory frame hanger that holds the small walnut forend, which incorporates a small spring accelerator mechanism inside that helps cycle the heavier/longer carbine length during firing. This rare transitional model was only manufactured for a very short time frame and has characteristics of both types of Lugers, such as: the short frame/barreled receiver, coil mainspring on the frame, grip safety, flat toggles without any toggle locks on the right side, and the 1906 style bolt with the wider extractor stamped "LOADED". The chamber is blank and the front toggle has the DWM logo. The full serial number "24129" is stamped on the underside of the frame extension and the underside of the barrel, running parallel to the bore. The last two digits of the serial number "29" are stamped on the bottom of the recoil lug, side of the grip safety, trigger, takedown lever, side plate, breech bolt and toggle assembly. As noted this scarce transitional Luger carbine has a matching attaching iron numbered "129" on top. The stock itself is an excellent reproduction that conforms to an original carbine version in all aspects; length, checkering and finish which, has a correct black plastic buttplate. It is fitted with a set of original sling swivels. The scarce example is complete with one original nickel plated magazine that has a correct style, unmarked wooden base.
