Desirable Colt 1851 Navy revolver .36 caliber percussion with U.S. Navy markings, serial number 89571. The revolver remains in original good to very good condition showing a smooth gray patina finish with traces of blue showing underneath the loading lever and where protected. The metal surfaces show a light cleaning long ago and are now aging back to a grayish patina. The barrel address is sharp and clear. The scene remains about 50% to 70% with engagement dates mostly visible on the edge. The grips show G.W. R. inspection on lower right grip and the grips are generally very good overall with a good fit and a few minor chips at the bottom and some slight smoothing of the heel which is well done. The iron back strap and trigger guard show traces of finish and the revolver has all matching visible serial numbers. The back strap shows original large stamped U S N with no periods which is correct for this range. A very acceptable Navy-Navy which are seldom found. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
