Desirable Civil War-era Spencer carbine without Stabler cut-off and appears to have been sent back to the Springfield Armory for re-furbishing and re-issue presumably during the Indian Wars; .52 cal., 22” round barrel, blue and case hardenedfinish, wood stocks, #49679. This gun is in overall very good to excellent condition showing approx. 80% arsenal blue finish with the balance gone to a plum brown, scattered light to moderate pitting over much of the barrel from long agopoor storage; approx. 97% vivid arsenal case colors on the receiver, hammer, lockplate, lever, barrel band and butt plate; bore is good overall with just a couple of pitted areas; crisp action, correct sights, saddle ring present, sling swivelon butt stock present, very good magazine tube in butt stock, re-stocked wood is very good to excellent with a crisp fore stock and very good butt stock with some scattered scratches and mars from storage, “OGO” small initials stamped on topof butt stock near butt plate, “T” stamped on the underside of the fore stock and “8C” stamped on left interior side of the action.
