Remington manufactured only about 2,000 Model 1890 Single Action Army revolvers from 1891 to 1894. The Model 1890 Single Action revolver was a competitor to the Colt Single Action Army. Examples of the Remington Model 1890 Single Action Army are scarce and very desirable. The revolver had a high polish blue finish, the hammer was casehardened and the trigger is niter blue. The barrel is fitted with a nickel-silver front sight blade. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION.N.Y.". The caliber designation, "44 C.F.W." (44-40) is stamped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. The serial number, "1755" is located on the left side of the butt underneath the grips and is marked on the inside of each grip panel. Fitted with hard rubber checkered grips with the "RA" monogram at the top and lanyard stud and ring on the butt.
BBL: 7 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 44-40
Finish: blue
Grips: hard rubber
Serial Number: 1755
Condition: Very good plus. The revolver retains 20% scattered original blue finish mainly contained to the protected areas, with a smooth mottled brown patina on the balance. There are strong traces of the original case colors on the hammer. There is a moderate chip on the right heel, otherwise the grips are also very good with crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is very good with exception of the half cock notch being absent.
