This is a very fine and totally original example of a Remington Model 1875 Single Action Army Revolver. Remington manufactured approximately 25-30,000 Model 1875 Revolvers between 1875 and 1889. The top of the barrel is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILLION. N.Y. U.S.A." , the serial number "14194" is marked on the left side of the butt under the grip and the batch number or assembly number "115" is marked on the left side of the back strap under the grip, on the inside of each grip panel and on the rear face of the cylinder. Pinched blade front and frame notch rear sights, lanyard stud and ring on the butt, blue finish with casehardened hammer, and fitted with smooth two-piece walnut grips with "44" stamped on the lower left panel.
BBL: 7 1/2 inch round

Gauge: 44 CF
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 14194
Condition: Very good plus. Remington had a notoriously poor bluing process and to find one with original finish is exceedingly rare. The revolver retains 35% plus original blue finish, mainly concentrated in the protected areas and on the trigger guard, with a smooth mottled brownish gray patina on the balance. The hammer retains 60% original case colors with flash of vibrant blue. The grips are very good with some slight wear on the lower edges and a few scattered minor dings and handling marks. The barrel marking remains clear and crisp. The action is excellent. Overall a rare blue 1875 in very fine condition.
