This Second Model Winchester Model 1890 was manufactured in 1894. It has a fixed front blade sight and a replacement fixed semi-buckhorn rear sight. The barrel has the fifth barrel marking including the Nov. 27, 1906 patent date on the left top flat midway down the barrel, the caliber marking on the top left flat near the receiver and the Winchester proof on the top flat at the breech. The top tang is marked with the Second Model tang marking. Mounted on a 12 groove round walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a smooth crescent steel buttplate.

Condition: Very fine as factory rebarreled (proofs present), 90% original blue finish remains on the barrel with high edge wear and scattered minor marks. The magazine tube retains 55% original blue finish with slide wear and some browning. The receiver and trigger guard assembly retain 60% plus original case colors with some brown discoloration. The forearm retains traces of original finish and has a 1 inch hairline crack on the bottom. The buttstock is very fine with a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
