This is a beautiful example of an A. H. Fox double barrel "B Grade" shotgun made circa 1915. These early shotgun are exceptionally well made and feature factory engraving, select walnut stock and forend with beautiful rust blued barrels with color-cased hardened actions. These were made from all steel parts that were hand fitted with exacting tolerances, no mass-produced, plastic parts here. The engraving is a large floral, type scroll engraving that covers 90% of the receiver and depicts a hunting scene on the underside. It is fitted with "Krupp Fluid Steel" barrels measuring 28 inches in length, that have a raised, matte sighting rib with double ivory sight beads. The barrels are choked modified and full and feature automatic extractors and double triggers, with a tang mounted safety. The right and left sides of the receiver are marked "ANSLEY H. FOX", with the top of the barrels marked: "KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY/A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA PA.". It has a pistol grip stock and splinter forend with both featuring a fine factory checkered pattern. The length of pull approximately 14 1/4 inches. This beautiful shotgun is accompanied by its original cardboard shipping box that has a 98% complete and intact end label, which is matching serial numbered to this shotgun.
