Description: This is a depression era, Santo Domingo "Tab" necklace from the famous, Jewel Box collection. The Jewel Box was owned by Morrey and Honeylou Resnick. They opened in 1949 and were located in downtown Phoenix. Later, it was moved to North Central Avenue, until it closed in May, 2006. Over the years, they amassed a large collection of Native American Jewelry. Several of their pieces were photographed in the famous Arizona Highways turquoise issues from the 1970s, including the well-known magazines of the January 1974 issue, the August 1974 issue and the March 1975 issue. Where possible, the Reznik's original tag with information has been left attached. This is a great, older, Santo Domingo necklace which features a thunderbird pendant. Recently restrung, but done old-school, and strung on waxed nylon cord. Maker: Unknown, Santo Domingo in style. Approx. Age: Circa 1920-1930s. Size: Measures 22" around the neck. Pendant is an additional 1-1/4" wide X 1-1/2" long. Weighs 48 g. Condition: Good for its age. Normal wear and minor imperfections expected on used and vintage items. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $5 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
