Legendary Broadway star (1897-1971) of dramas and musicals, he played the role of Francois Villon in Rudolf Friml's The Vagabond King in 1925, in which he also made his sound film debut five years later. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of a battered King, by Eugene Robert Richee, signed and inscribed in black ink, “To Oscar, Sincerely, Dennis King.” Light rippling to edges and repaired tack holes to corner tips, otherwise fine condition.
