Rare unsigned book: Dennis Hopper: Out of the Sixties. Limited first edition. Pasadena, CA: Twelvetrees Press, 1986, 50 gravure plates
112 pages. Hardcover with dust jacket, 9 x 12.25. In very good to fine condition, with light scuffing and edge tears to the dust jacket.

A remarkable collection of photographs taken by Dennis Hopper before he directed Easy Rider, this is a portrait of the decade made from Hopper's unique position within the art and entertainment world of the time. Hopper's photographs of pop artists, musicians, Hollywood stars, and civil rights marchers of the 1960's are synonymous with the attitudes, sensibilities, fashions, and aspirations of that decade. Included are essays by poet Michael McClure, director Terry Southern, and curator Walter Hopps.

Originates from the personal collection of Gail Kearns, who worked as a production supervisor on David Lynch's Blue Velvet and as the production coordinator on the Robert De Niro vehicle Jacknife.
