Demon Masks From 1950's Horror Films
Demon Masks From 1950's Horror Films - Jerry Neeley was a legend in the Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy genera. A well known film historian, writer, collector and owner of the famous "Jerry's Video" in Los Feliz, CA, customers, collectors and throngs of famous directors, writers and industry people would come from around the world to talk to Jerry, whose knowledge and memory were encyclopedic and also visit his massive collection. His video store became the inspiration and refuge for a whole generation of the top writers, directors and actors who took Sci-Fi, horror and fantasy to new levels of greatness in their own careers. Besides having the largest collection of rare and obscure videos in the world, he was known for his collection of props, costumes, art, prototypes, and all kinds of rare memorabilia. Among his favorite films to collect from were "King Kong", "Forbidden Planet", "Invasion of the Body Snatcher", and the classic films of Ray Harryhausen. He also had a passion for the most obscure low-low-low budget horror films of the 1950's. From his massive collection comes these two original "demon" masks both used on screen and prototypes from some of these long forgotten "drive-in" programmers. They are both made of latex. This wonderful pair of movie history includes a Letter of Provenience from Jerry Neeley's widow and co-owner of his various video and memorabilia shops. Each production mask is approx 12"x7". Please note that because of their age they are very fragile, and show some signs of wear.
