Deluxe presentation quality rosewood box for 5” pocket model complete with fine accessories. The top of the box is period script engraved on a silver plaque A.B. Smith. The interior of the box is lined in dusty rose color cotton velveteen and remains in very good plus to near fine original condition with just some minor fading and fraying with impressions at contact points. The flask is in fine to excellent condition and shows 95% to 98% bright original lacquer with all its fire blue on the spring. The brass mold has colored just slightly and shows a few scratches but is also near fine. A full pack of unopened skin cartridges is included. The compartments are covered in a very deluxe style and show carved pearl pulls. One compartment contains a cap box with proper label. Advanced Colt collectors would recognize the fact that this is an extra deep and extra fine original Colt case that would have contained a presentation grade engraved model 1849. The exterior shows select rosewood in very good plus to near fine condition with a few small chips and scratches but at least very good plus to near fine condition. The key plate and plaque are silver and the hinges are silver plated. This is a very special box and deserves a very special engraved Colt with up to 95% finish and extra high quality engraving.
